One down two to go...

Well today marks the end of my first trimester. I guess everyone knows the relief you feel when you meet this mark. Less chance of miscarriage, less morning sickness, and now the feeling that as your tummy grows you go from looking less fat and more pregnant. I went to the Dr. last week for a check up and they did another ultrasound. The kids came and were so excited as they got to hear the heart beat as well. Dr. said everything was good. I have to get a Heparin Pump next week. I have a clotting disorder, I found out about two years ago called factor five. It causes a big increase in the chance of having a blood clot. The pump is nice as it takes away the need for three shots a day. I am not looking forward to being poked or hooked up all the time but to prevent a clot is worth it.
Oh, also I can report that this baby is totally different than the others. I cannot eat anything sweet and I crave chicken salad of all things. I could eat it for breakfast! LOL! Gross I know but I am loving it! So hopefully I might break my chocolate addiction with this baby since it has been a while since i wanted any. Lol!
So that all for this update, will update with more as I get anything new.

Happy _____

So many Happy's this month.
We had happy Halloween. Also was my husbands birthday. My mom and dad came with a small hayride. Eric and Ashley came with Adler and Hazel and we had a big birthday party and Trick or Treat! This year we had Lucy from Narnia, A blue Angel Pilot A pirate and a ladybug!
Here are my two in their costumes. Cool Blue Angel and Queen Lucy of Narnia

We also had a late small party with family for Everitt's Birthday. He had an outer space skate party.

Blow out the candles and make a wish! I cannot believe my big boy is five! I love this cake. I went to Dream Cakes again, they do an awesome job. It even has the footprints of the first moonwalk, so cool!
Also I turned another year older as well. I do not feel that much older from last year, so I guess that is good! A very busy October with lots to celebrate!!!

Can u figure it out?

What usually starts with a + or - , involves lots of shock and tears, the doctor saying it was not possible so no worry, God decided the Dr. was not in charge, Woody frozen in his chair with a look of shock, my Mom and Dad saying OMG! My kids laughing till they cried and happy, a add on planned for the house and lots of doctor appts. .
.
.
Did you guess?

One more clue, A blessing ...

Yes, you got it! I am pregnant! Due the end of May, first of June. Official due date June 4th but mine seem to come a little early. It was a major shock, with PCOS i was told it was never an option for us again and I was ok with that. God is all mighty and had a different plan for our family. I just got back from the doctor Friday and all looks well. Heard the heart beat and saw the baby on the sonogram so It is for real. If I still sound shocked, I guess i am adjusting a little everyday. It has been the reason I have not posted on the blog in a while. We have been a little busy, and I have been a little sick, but not as bad as the other two thankfully. I will keep you all updated as we go.

Oh the places We Go!

These pictures are from our recent trip to Little Rock, AR for doctor appts. This pic is of the kids on the downtown trolley. We went to see the Presidential Library and then went to the children's museum. On the next day I took the kids to see the Egyptian exhibit" The Pharaoh "at the arts museum. All the museums were awesome and very educational!

This is Everitt showing off his pyramid souvenir from the art exhibit. The cool thing was all the gifts were actual souvenirs from the Cairo museum gift shop. So we got to take home a little piece of Egypt.

This is the kids in the gifts they got. McKaylin got a real Egyptian sarong and a beaded wig.

While we were there we met up with family. Aunt Sherry and Me-maw Nita. Sherry joined us for lunch and went to the children's museum with us. The kids and I had lots of fun having her there. Then we met up with them again and me-maw came and we took the kids to dinner at the famous Purple Cow. Purple milkshakes and an old time diner feel. It was so nice to see them and visit.

Another fun place we went was here in town. The Orlando Arabian horse dinner show has a traveling educational program they do for kids. It is called the Black Stallion literacy program. The kids enjoyed the show and loved all the horses and tricks. They especially loved seeing the black stallion. We were able to even get their books signed by the author. Mckaylin's homeschool friends were there and since it was one of their birthdays we got to join in and meet everyone backstage. Lots of fun!

The Homeschool Classroom

So this is our little
classroom. It is small
but functional. It use to be our breakfast room! Hey until I get a homeschool room added on to my house, you work with what you have. This is Everitt's first year to homeschool so I was a little nervous on how he would do with his room and toys being only a few feet away, but he did great. We just keep a tight schedule and when I ding our schools out bell he knows the rest of the house is open. Here they are at their desk. Everitt is using McKaylin's old slant board and is doing great with it.
Each day we have two helpers, a weather person and a mail person. The weather person checks the temp. and the weather and places the weather card on the calendar which we graph out the end of each month. The mail person is in charge of handing out all the school "mail" (their assignment subjects) for the day. When all the mail has been filled in and checked each child mails their work in the classroom mailboxes. when the flag is up, you get to get a treasure chest candy. Man , candy is the ultimate motivator in our house. My kids do not get it every day, so they will finish and work hard for it on school days. We have recess, computer ect, just like reg. schools do and our school day runs from 9to 3.

I have to face them away from each other. I mean they are brother and sister and this is not a storybook. There would be faces and loss of patience all around
if not. LOL!

Everitt is busy at work. He has learned to write his name, and knows all his shapes, most all his colors..orange is still hard for him, and has learned the letters and sounds up to letter H. All that has come since the start of school. When we started he only knew a few colors and shapes and that was all. So I am so excited at his progress.

Because teaching a five year old involves lots of sounds and songs McKaylin uses noise cancellation headphones to do her work. She gets all the work she can do by herself done then when Everitt takes his nap we do the heavy subjects of Math, reading, and language.
McKaylin has also made progress and is writing in cursive her whole name and has learned all the cursive letters. We are just working on connecting them. Math is a real struggle in our house, but she keeps a good attitude and keeps trying and trying. Her history is great this year. We are doing Tapestry of Grace. She loves it and is learning a ton!

Here Everitt is using headphones to do his
Montessori activities. In our house it called shelves. He does four shelf activities a day. They are just real hands on learning. I am usually calling out spelling words and finishing language with McKaylin during this time. It is great and keeps him busy so I can complete the heavy work with McKaylin.

So that is a little look at our homeschooling. It is coming along, and going well. I feel so Blessed!

What we did back in September

The kids dressed in uniform for their first day of Veritas. Everitt was very excited to go to school for the first time where McKaylin goes also. The Friday program there is the best and the kids have wonderful teachers again this year. They both have been having fun and making friends.
McKaylin was just chosen for a solo in the end of the year musical and Everitt has been having fun with show and tell each week!

To celebrate the kids first weekend with starting school we had an indoor camp-out. They were not brave enough to venture as far as the back yard but they had lots of fun!
